[attr="class","smdbody"]The trek up along side the river had been a peaceful one. There had been no interruptions, the she-wolf had managed a good catch of a couple of rabbits, still shedding their thick winter down, even at the beginning of the summer. Her own coat was sleek and shiny, having shed its bulk from the winter long before. The heat still bit into her coat though, even despite its thinness, the light drawn to her dark hue, heating it up. The mist from the falls though helped to negate this effect, cooling her. Stark amber eyes glanced around, surveying the terrain with a keen stare. Every so often, she'd stray close to the water, and glimpse her own reflection distorted by the ripples. She knew, even with the water's warping that she was gorgeous. At least, this is what the she-wolf told herself. She would puff herself up, and strut on, giving her walk a sway and a swagger that was steeped in over-abundant confidence. Sometime later, she decided to stop at one of the pools that littered the trajectory of the falls. She took a few laps from it, cooling her mouth. It was a small piece of beauty that she found by following the river upstream, coming ever closer to the origin of it that she assumed rested somewhere on the peak that she could see rising above the forest that surrounded the water. The forest was alive with the buzz of summer, and she quite enjoyed this despite the heat. Summer was the time to feed well, a respite from the hardships that swung around each time the barrenness of winter sunk its claws into the world. Eyota settled herself on a smooth boulder that jutted from the ground beside the water, crossing her forelegs comfortably, and allowing her hind legs to stick out to the side. Her tail rested over them, and her maw rested upon her front paws. She stared at the water, the forest, everything she could see comfortably without moving her head. She found herself drifting slowly into a lulled slumber, albeit a light one that even the smallest of sounds made her open her eyes for a moment before drifting slowly closed again. She was shortly in such a slumber that she wasn't aware of the sounds or scents of another approaching.
